Do You Feel Lonely Like I Do? (Loneliness is my companion) is an interactive web-based project that investigates the contemporary individual’s tendencies towards loneliness. The work intends to promote dialogue that normalizes and minimizes this common human experience while also questioning its sources in a post-pandemic world.

Júlia Sodré is a Brazilian artist and writer based in Portland, Oregon. Her work is confessional and driven by how trauma, family, and neurodiversity impact her interpersonal relationships. Sodré investigates her identity as a chronically lonely individual as she attempts to comprehend what it means to perpetually mourn the wasted potential for human connection. She holds a BA in Visual Arts from the University of Brasília and an MFA in Contemporary Art program at Portland State University.
