_errorismo

2023

_errorismo is born as a simple typographic approach to interpret and communicate the text-message. It explores its visual nature and turns it into a protagonist of equal importance to the main message. It explores masses and voids, hierarchy, unity, structure and navigation. Under the influence of the precepts of Glitch Art, a recent artistic movement to which the artist identifies himself for conceptual issues, the artwork presents noises and visual and sound distortions. It plays with a resource from artist’s childhood, which is to fill in the gaps with letters to form meaningful words. In this case, it establishes a parallel between the neologism of the word errorism (error+[r]+ism/s) with the word in formation (t)errorism, offering a social, political, moral, and artistic critique of the violent acts to which global society is subjected. Regarding the presence of sounds in this work, from a sound construction by Simple.Normal, it presents a tense, low and noisy sound generated from data sonification, its atmosphere aiming to produce a sonic equivalent to the sensation of anguish.
