The music video is a breakthrough into the dimension of the unconscious, through which feelings and emotions, childhood memories, fragmentary images, fears, dreams and repressed desires are scattered. A place where traditional Russian village and modern Japanese pop culture meet. The scene is “the House of Culture” and the house in the deserted village, where I spent all her childhood, and where I had not been for 20 years until coming to shoot the video. This project is a long-term performance, including the stages of writing the lyrics of the song, composing music, rehearsing with a vocal teacher, working in a recording studio, preparing and shooting a music video, transporting rural scenery to the exhibition, performing in front of the audience.”In the video, female protagonist appears in the image of either a bride or a little girl. The video resembles analog horror in style, which is characterized by a weak narrative connection within the story. Neither monsters made from children’s toys nor the image of a young girl in trouble make this story a horror story if the main character herself is not afraid. The girl in the white dress looks more thoughtful than frightened. At some point, she becomes like the image of a seductive but insidious demon from Japanese folklore, busily breaking off the head of a doll – no respect for the frightening and no reverence before death.”
