2021
The artistic proposition “Respiros Dissonantes” was created by the Research Group on Art, Technology and Society (Entre Nós) of FAALC / UFMS, based on the concepts of Science, Technology and Society, whose thinking turns to the criticism of contemporary technologies, which locates its value not only in the instrumentality of the tools, but in its possibilities and potentiality of reception and perception of the subjects, contributing to the development of critical thinking and social transformations. Aiming at art as a producer of mediation/critical reflection on reality and seeking to produce close and intense relationships between art and life, in their process of interaction, bodies representing the many people who died, appear in space according to the capture of data referring to the cases of deaths of COVID-19, available in the official information networks. In its symbolic aspects, the work presents reflections on the denial of science, the debauchery of basic care in the use of masks or social distancing, or the lack of government in favor of the people. Respiros dissonantes is a place of lament, a memorial to those many and so many who lost their lives due to the lethality of the coronavirus, and it is also a space for opening reflective debates and raising awareness about the importance of life and also a manifesto on the valorization of art and science.
