Céu é o limite
2025
The work I present belongs to a style I call INESperada art – a creative exercise in which the raw material is the unexpected, always with the intention of promoting the inclusion of those who are different. Priority is therefore given to using new tools for the first time – in this case, ChatGPT suggested CodePen, which the artist used for the very first time. In this piece, I start from the unexpected projection of a sky on the ceiling to ask ChatGPT for guidance on how to make letters move interactively when my finger touches the screen with a sky background, thus exploring the boundaries between words, technology, and sensory experience. I drew an analogy between the vastness of the sky and the creative possibilities enabled by AI tools, highlighting their potential for democratization.
AI Context
“I am part of the Toronto AI Visual group, a collaborative space where people who previously might not have had the opportunity to share their audiovisual narratives are empowered to create films, videos, and animated poems using artificial intelligence tools. Beyond their creative potential, I also use AI tools as a way to train my own mental flexibility and assertiveness — sometimes by accepting their suggestions, and at other times by exercising creativity and firmness in how I guide the prompts. My artistic practice follows the Unexpected Art style, where the unexpected itself becomes the raw material. Thus, I start from an unforeseen event (the projection of a sky on the ceiling) and follow ChatGPT’s unexpected suggestion to use CodePen — my first time doing so.”
